Donuts for Dads Honors Fathers of Faith
Psalm 112: 1-2 states, "Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. His children will be called mighty in the land and each generation of the upright will be blessed."
While Father's Day is not actually celebrated until June, by all appearances, it looked like Father's Day last Friday at UCS. More than 100 fathers of students in Pre-K 3 through 1st grade descended upon the lower campus for an informal recognition and fun at an event known as Donuts for Dads.
The students, acting as hosts and hostesses, served coffee and doughnuts. Meanwhile, dads mixed, mingled, visited classrooms, and even participated in some hands-on activities such as making paper airplanes and designing jewelry. Other classes prayed together or had students read scripture citing attributes of a godly man and father from Psalm 112.
Donuts for Dads was another example of how UCS demonstrates its mission of partnering with parents to support a Christ-centered, Biblically based education for their children.
