UCS Student Receives STAR Student Award
On Friday, February 3, Unity Christian School’s very own Wendy Bristow was recognized by the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce as the school’s first ever STAR Student. Angie Lewis, the 2012 Chairman of the Board of the Greater Rome Chamber, made the presentation at a special assembly. Wendy then introduced her STAR Teacher by giving us ten reasons why this teacher is awesome:
10. She can deal with drama in the classroom and in homeroom.
9. Her classes are challenging and push past the comfort zone of most students.
8. She is well-read and loves reading.
7. She has helped me uncover my own style of writing.
6. Classes are never boring – there is always something interesting to discuss.
5. When she teaches, she also helps guide the class into a Biblical discussion.
4. Students can come to her with everyday problems, and she helps deal with them.
3. She has dealt with my class since we were in middle school.
2. She encourages students to strive for excellence in not just her class but in others as well.
1. She’s Mrs. Payne!!!
We congratulate Wendy Bristow and Mrs. Payne on their well-deserved honors.
