UCS Bible teacher Mitchell Jolly accepts an award from DFCS as the Board Member of the Year presented by State Representative Katie Dempsey.

We are proud of MR. JOLLY!

The UCS Middle School and High School will be presenting the historical Christian drama on April 30, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at Life Church. Marked For Greatness is a true story of Adoniram Judson in Burma.

Thank you Mrs. Murdock for impacting our youth on the understanding of missions

Mrs. Brown's Spanish 1 class took its annual visit to Los Palmas to eat lunch. Each student had to order their lunch in Spanish!

In preparation for the outing, students wrote their own skits and practiced ordering during class.

Mrs. Stone's fifth grade had a fun filled class period while searching the school on a scavenger hunt. The 5th graders read Blackthorn Winter by: Kathryn Reiss and formed groups. Parents came and helped with the hunt and fun was had by all. At the end of the hunt, each group received a few little treasures.

Mrs. Barker's Kindergarten class from Unity Christian School has been collecting shoes for Soles4Souls, an organization that cleans and distributes used or new shoes to people in need around the world. Donating shoes rather than discarding them is a simple yet profound way to benefit people in need while helping the environment at the same time. Soles4Souls has distributed over 7 million pairs to people in 125 countries.

Please help by donating new or used shoes. Drop boxes have been set up outside Mrs. Barker's classroom at the lower campus and in the lobby at the upper campus. Our collection date ends March 30th.

Pictured above are Mrs. Barker's students and Marta, a representative of Soles4Souls.

The first grade classes from Unity Christian School spent a fun filled day at the Tennessee Aquarium marveling at the wonders of God. The first graders have been learning how God gave each animal all they need to survive in their own habitat. They were able to feel the icy cold water where the penguins live and understand why God gave them blubber.

A HUGE thank you to some UCS families that have come together to form
U - N - I - T - Y in organizing a group that will be blessing the lower campus with some face lifts. The first was a semi truck full of mulch for our play ground. There was so much mulch the next day on the playground, that one Pre K 3 student asked, "Who lowered the swings?" Thank you to all who are blessing us with these gifts.
